We’ve Moved: Bookman’s New Home at A House Ark

This week we packed up our things in Vasastan, Stockholm and moved across town to A house Ark on Östermalm.

Ark is not just any building. Designed by architect Gunnar Henriksson in the early 1970s, it was originally built as the School of Architecture. With its massive concrete walls and geometric forms it is one of Stockholm’s most striking examples of brutalism. Over the years it has been called many things, even been voted Sweden’s ugliest building. But to us it has a special appeal. The straight lines and raw surfaces remind us of what we like most about Scandinavian design: simplicity, function and honesty.

And while the exterior might split opinions, the inside is full of life. Today A house Ark has been transformed into a creative hub where fashion, food, music and media all meet under the same roof. It is a place buzzing with ideas, people and unexpected encounters. For us that means inspiration, new energy and the perfect environment to keep designing great lights and visibility products.

So if you are in Stockholm, come by and see us at A house Ark. Östermalmsgatan 26A.
