EN 13356:2016
EN 13356:2001 focuses on visibility accessories for non-professional use, ensuring they enhance visibility in low-light conditions. This standard is crucial for pedestrian and cyclist safety, specifying requirements for reflective accessories worn on the body, such as arm bands and clips. The standard covers aspects like luminous intensity, color, and placement on the body to maximize visibility.
EN17353:2020
EN 17353:2020 specifies requirements for visibility accessories used in medium-risk situations and replaces EN13356 och EN1150. This standard covers three performance levels: The standard emphasizes durability, retroreflective performance, and the ability to withstand environmental factors.
Transition from EN 13356:2001 to EN 17353:2020
The EN 13356:2016 standard, which specified requirements for visibility accessories for non-professional use, has been replaced by EN 17353:2020. This transition reflects an updated approach to ensuring visibility and safety for users in various environments. While EN 13356:2001 focused primarily on reflective accessories, EN 17353:2020 provides a more comprehensive framework, covering different types of visibility accessories and their performance in a range of lighting conditions. Products certified under the EN 13356:2001 can still be sold during the transition period before being recertified according to the new standard.
CE Marking
CE Marking indicates compliance with EU safety, health, and environmental requirements. This marking is essential for ensuring that our products meet all applicable directives, providing you with safe and reliable accessories. All our bike lights as well as reflectors are CE marked to comply with all applicable standards.
